Following the widespread publication of calls to hold strikes and protests in three consecutive days from December 5 to December 8, 2022, during the first day and until the preparation of this report, 29 cities in the four Kurdish provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah, Kurdistan (Sanandaj) and West Azerbaijan (Urmia) actively participated in the strike. 

According to the report received by the Hengaw Organisation for Human Rights, today, Monday, December 5, 2022, following the call on the shopkeepers and business owners in Kermanshah province, in 8 cities of Paveh, Javanroud, Gilan-e-Gharb, Ravansar, Islamabad-e-Gharb, Kozaran, Kangavar, and Kermanshah went on a general strike.

Also, 11 cities in Kurdistan province (Sanandaj) participated in the strike.  This strike has been confirmed in Diwandarreh, Sanandaj, Dehgolan, Saqqez, Kamiyaran, Marivan, Qorveh, Baneh, Mochesh, and Kanidinar.

According to the reports and videos obtained by Hengaw, strikes have been going on in 4 cities of Ilam, Abdanan, Sarablah, and Darehshahr in Ilam province, as well as in 6 cities of Bukan, Oshnaviyeh, Urmia, Mahabad, Takab, and Sardasht in West Azerbaijan (Urmia) province.

According to the calls published inside and outside of Iran, general strikes and protests will be held in the next two days all over Iran and Kurdistan.
